Gravel and Rocks

I’m making a bit more progress on fixing up my garden. I got a couple of hundred kilos of gravel, and some largish rocks and have tidied up the bed at the back of the patio.

The bed in question is the bare one just before the lawn.

At the moment it’s all looking awfully white, but once it rains (if it ever rains again) the gravel should turn more blue-grey. If I were doing it again I’d perhaps try harder to get some more contrasting coloured stones, but that’s all that they had at Dobbies that I liked.

Now I need to get two or three pot plants to sit on it. I have two azaleas but they’ve not been doing too well recently and I’m wondering if it’s because they’re getting too much sun. This area is in direct sun for most of the day, so I’m thinking that putting them here is perhaps not the best idea. I might get a chrysanthemum as I had one before and it did really well and I think it’ll fit the look.
